Will using ProperMech void my vehicle manufacturer warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer cannot void your warranty just because an independent specialist completed routine services or repairs. Keep your in-app invoices for records.
How do I know my mechanic is trustworthy?
Before a pro can take a booking on ProperMech, we check their driver's license (or, for a shop, confirm a code sent to the shop's own email). Other credentials a pro adds, like certifications or insurance, show on their profile as badges only after we've checked them. ProperMech star ratings come only from customers whose job was booked and finished through the app.
How is payment handled?
Estimates are prepared and approved inside the app. Once you approve a service line, that price is locked. You pay your mechanic directly upon successful job completion using cash, credit card, or check.
What if I need an complex diagnostic scan?
ProperMech mobile pros carry dealer-level diagnostic scanners (like OBDII scan tools) to extract manufacturer-specific trouble codes, allowing them to diagnose engine, transmission, or ABS faults right in your driveway.
